15th National American Society of Marine Artists juried "Sculptured by Pacific Storms", an 8 x 16 oil painting by Ivan Kelly to be included in its 15^th National Art Museum Exhibit Tour which includes eight public art museums throughout six States beginning October 2011.

"From over 450 works, the jury of twenty A.S.M.A. Fellows picked 86 paintings and seven three-dimensional pieces, representing the very best work of our membership," stated Russ Kramer, A.S.M.A. President based on the East Coast, "Thank you for your terrific contribution to what you will soon see is a very impressive collection of art, one we can all be very proud of as it travels to eight prestigious museums across the country." They include public art museums through Florida, Alabama, Texas, California, Oregon and Minnesota. The tour starts in October, 2011 and ends in July, 2013. Along with the juried exhibit will be a 100-plus page full-color catalog of the show.

Ivan's marine oil paintings were juried into the previous 13th and 14th National Exhibit and also included in the ASMA Exhibition catalog. He was awarded "Signature Member" status in 2000.

Quiet meadows, fog shrouded coastal cliffs, sweeping beaches, mountain ranges and animals are subject matter for outdoor and plein air artist Ivan Kelly.

Born and raised in Ireland, I moved to Canada in 1972 and began the practice of on-location oil painting in the Rockies. On one of my regular visits to the Okanagan Game Farm, I met Robert Lougheed and several others including Paul Strisik and Wayne Wolfe who were painting animals from life. Bob strongly encouraged me to put down my sketch book for a while and paint the animals instead. From that time onward, Bob's unparalled skill, picture design and single-minded dedication to working from life, has been a constant inspiration to me.

Painting visits to Oregon led to a move to Toledo in 1992 where he and his wife built a studio-gallery to showcase his Oil Paintings.
